Cruising with the top Influencers
“We’re an affiliate-first company. Our influencers mean everything to us.” This philosophy is the main reason Yū takes affiliates on trips, said Blair Peterson, VP of Sales. In November 2025, Yū took its top affiliates on a cruise, an exclusive trip affiliates can qualify for during specific earning periods throughout the year.
Originally scheduled to travel to the Bahamas and Mexico, the cruise was rerouted to the Dominican Republic due to inclement weather. Although the itinerary changed, affiliates and the Yū corporate team were able to adjust and still enjoy an incredible experience. Peterson said, “The best part of the whole thing was how we were able to adjust on the fly, and our affiliates were amazing and we just rolled with it.”
Highlights for the corporate team included a pool side day in Amber Cove and an affiliate photo shoot onboard. The trip also included a sales competition, with the winner announced during a farewell meeting on the final day. Tara Gaughan, Director of Affiliate Care, said, “ The purpose of this trip is to meet, connect with, and build our relationships with our affiliates. We LOVE to recognize and reward our affiliates and build the community within our affiliate family.”
Throughout the cruise, affiliates had opportunities to be recognized and earn rewards, along with exclusive swag created just for the trip. But the most meaningful part was the time spent together, allowing affiliates and the corporate team to truly connect.
Peterson said, “I know there are a lot of companies that will have trips and view them more as a reward trip and, and don't really see their people until the end of the trip, maybe at a farewell dinner. We spend time with our affiliates throughout the whole time. We eat dinner with them every night, we do activities with them. We want to really get to know them, their families, their backgrounds, and what really matters to them.”
The Yū team aims to travel with affiliates around two times each year, creating trips that intentionally “fill the cup” for both affiliates and corporate employees while continuing to build meaningful connections and a strong wellness community.
